An exciting ocean-themed choose-your-path STEM adventure for emerging readers! Take a journey to the ocean’s twilight zone in Search for a Giant Squid ! An exciting mixture of action and non action, this choose-your-own-adventure-style story allows readers to take on the mantle of a teuthologist looking for a giant squid in its natural habitat. Once readers pick their submersible, pilot, and dive site, the adventure begins!

Bios

Amy Seto Forrester

Amy Seto Forrester is a youth services supervising librarian at Eugene Public Library (OR) who is passionate about diverse, engaging books for developing readers. She has a background in the performing arts and a love of puzzles, mazes, and other forms of interactive learning. Frustrated by the lack of diversity in books for beginning readers, she decided to write one herself. She is co-founder of the Guessing Geisel blog and has written for review journals including SLJ, Horn Book Guide, and Booklist. She regularly contributes to Kirkus Reviews.

Andy Chou Musser

Andy Chou Musser is the author-illustrator of A Home Under the Stars, his debut picture book, which received a starred review from Kirkus Reviews and a silver medal from the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles. He illustrated Search for a Giant Squid, the first book in a series written by Amy Seto Forrester and is the co-author of Ploof with Ben Clanton. Andy has also created animation for a range of clients including ABC, Starbucks, T-Mobile and Warner Brothers. Emily Arrow

Emily Arrow (she/they) is an award-winning children’s songwriter, author, and educator known for crafting meaningful stories and songs. With her beloved ukulele companion, Bow, Emily aims to inspire young minds, encouraging them to embrace and share their own unique voices. Emily tours the country to speak and sing at schools, bookstores, and festivals, and her recent album “Sing-Along with Emily Arrow” (9/8/23) is signed to the notable Platoon Records. She brings over a decade of teaching experience as a Berklee College of Music graduate, Montessori certified, and Orff Shulwerk educator. Based on the West Coast, Emily is active in the literary and children's performing arts communities, serving on the Portland Book Festival Advisory Council of Literary Arts in Portland, OR, and as the Director of Music for Storïwr Children’s Theater Company in Los Angeles. She's also a dedicated entrepreneur and is the founder of Rainbow Song School, an inclusive online & pop-up music education studio launching March 2024!
