Dr. Mindy Nettifee<\/strong> is\u00a0a poet, professional teaching artist, and somatic therapist specializing in trauma healing and expression.\u00a0She is the author of three full-length collections of poems:\u00a0Sleepyhead Assassins<\/em>\u00a0(Moon Tide Press),\u00a0Rise of the Trust Fall<\/em>\u00a0(Write Bloody Press), and\u00a0Open Your Mouth Like a Bell<\/em>\u00a0(Write Bloody Press) as well as a collection of essays on writing,\u00a0Glitter In The Blood \u2013 A Poet\u2019s Manifesto for Better, Braver Writing<\/em>\u00a0(Write Bloody Press). She is a three time nominee for the Pushcart Prize, a Powell\u2019s Books Indie Press Best Seller, and she co-edited the anthology\u00a0Courage \u2013 Daring Poems for Gutsy Girls<\/em>\u00a0(Write Bloody Press). Her latest work is her doctoral dissertation\u00a0Voice as Embodied Sense: Rethinking Voice and Language in Trauma Healing<\/em>\u00a0(ProQuest), which\u00a0investigates the sensory capacities of the voice and the role they play in trauma healing and integration.\u00a0Mindy is currently the director of the Center for Artist Resilience, where she leads a team of artist educators and somatic practitioners providing education, therapeutic services, and process facilitation to individuals and organizations at the intersection of trauma healing and the expressive arts. She can also be found teaching creative writing, storytelling, and performance workshops with BackFence PDX, The Moth, and Literary Arts in Portland, Oregon.<\/p>\n
