She has a background in the performing arts and a love of puzzles, mazes, and other forms of interactive learning. Frustrated by the lack of diversity in books for beginning readers, she decided to write one herself. She is co-founder of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shelf-awareness.com\/ct\/v\/_LGIb3FtOpOYA6hwYP-32eoQY4V1yqmcf5dbPnjj3yo\">Guessing Geisel<\/a> blog and has written for review journals including <em>SLJ<\/em>, <em>Horn Book Guide<\/em>, and <em>Booklist<\/em>.
