In celebration of Diwali, Molly and Meherwan Irani of Asheville’s celebrated Chai Pani join longtime friend Chef Troy MacLarty for a special evening at Bollywood Theater, featuring dishes inspired by Meherwan’s new cookbook alongside Bollywood Theater favorites.
For the past three years, Cathy Whims and the Nostrana team have cooked their way through the entire collection, creating 19 dinners: one for each book. Now, for the Portland Book Festival, that journey comes to an end with Roma in Bocca the 20th book.
Join us on the evening of Friday, November 6, for a preview of the exhibitor fair before the festival crowds arrive.

Sight Reading features world-renowned songwriters translating between dialects in real time: the written language of music (usually expressed on staff), oral / aural traditions and “playing by ear” come together to work with Oregon Symphony musicians as they perform newly-created arrangements of songs by musicians who write their music in a variety of ways.
