Kimiko Matsuda

« All Events

Kimiko Matsuda is the founder of The Idea Factory, a Portland-based creative studio offering curated travel, cultural events, and strategic consulting for bold ideas and the people behind them.

A second-generation entrepreneur and former Nike strategist, Kimiko has built a reputation as the go-to creative connector for brands, civic partners, and cultural leaders looking to make meaningful things happen in Portland—and beyond. Whether she’s designing a visiting artist’s itinerary, producing a community panel inside a neighborhood café, or advising founders on how to grow with intention, her work is rooted in visibility, belonging, and smart momentum.

As a content creator, Kimiko brings a sharp editorial eye to the brands and experiences she features— capturing behind-the-scenes stories with the same intimacy and intention that defines her strategy work. Her storytelling has become a trusted bridge between creators and communities, helping audiences feel deeply connected to the people behind the product.

She’s been recognized by Travel Portland, featured in Portland Monthly, and trusted by some of the city’s most influential institutions. Her superpower? Turning vision into experience—and making sure the right people show up.
