Akasha Lawrence Spence

Akasha Lawrence Spence is a visionary, change agent, and intuitive strategist interrogating freedom through an economic justice lens. She is the founder and CEO of Fifth Element, a community development firm breaking down barriers to decision making power in the built environment and public policy. She writes creative and academic works to call folks in and do the collective work of envisioning a new world, one we all deserve to live in.  A former Oregon State Senator, she has ensured the unprecedented allocation of state resources to historically under-resourced communities. Everything Akasha does is in service to her unflinching commitment to advocating, creating, and implementing radical solutions that advance the social, political and economic freedom of marginalized peoples.
